Pretty decent- large portions but no kid's menu? Too americanized in relation to the spiciness of dishes.

I was disappointed. We decided to try this place because it was on the "Best of the Springs" list. We went for the Saturday buffet. The buffet was very limited. The price was reasonable. There were only 4 other people there at noon on a Saturday. With such a small number of diners, I doubt the food gets refreshed very often. I will try another place next time I'm craving Chinese.

Absolutely horrible service!!! The man who answered the phone was short and very rude. I tried to place a delivery order for my office... Multiple people were ordering food, the man rudely exclaimed that I could only have one financial transaction for a delivery. Which makes so sense! Do you want our money or not? Do you want to do 8 separate deliveries??? After I told all of my coworkers that they needed to come up with cash to order dinner, I called back, to my surprise same rude gentleman answered the phone. Through each order he had something to say. This was seriously the most difficult order I have ever placed in my 32 years. Once all orders were in I asked to use a coupon for free wontons, he then again told me I couldn't do that with the dinner special. Then proceeded to tell me "just cancel your order! We don't want to do business with you!!" I will never ever do business with them again! Absolutely horrible...

We frequent Coal Mine Dragon for the lunch buffet. It is a very clean place with fresh food and wonderful service. We are always happy when we leave Coal Mine Dragon! I highly recommend it for anyone dining alone, with a friend, or with large groups. We have had "work birthday" lunches there and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my laptop in if I wanted to eat and work because it's nice and quiet. They have partnered with a local photography club and have beautiful artwork on all the walls. Love this place.

The food is OK, very greasy. Whatever tenderizing methods they use completely turn the meat to mush.

Service has always been good, though I always order delivery or takeout, so can't speak about dine-in or the buffet. What my problem with is the food. It seems to be even more bland than the first time I tried it. No depth of flavor and my last order of sweet and sour combo had NO vegetables in it. No peppers, no pineapple, just fried bits of meat, orange-colored sauce and fried rice with not a hint of anything but rice and brown coloring. The crab rangoon are ok, egg rolls were ok, wonton soup was meh. I might head here if I really get a craving, but chances are (and it PAINS me to say this) Panda Express is a more flavorful option.

I have a hard time turning Asian food down. Ok, ok, it's damn near impossible for me to turn it down. Coal Mine Dragon is one of those places that coworkers "drag" me to, I stuff my face and then do the walk of shame when I leave. The buffet food is overly sticky-saucy, never seems fresh no matter when you get there, and is rather limited. Coal Mine Dragon is like the greasy chopsticks step-child of Panda Express. Eat until your heart's content or it quits.

I've never really had an issue with Chinese food before I moved here. Anything you order is covered in grease, the flavors and textures of everything is just slightly off, I live right next door and pick up my orders and it always seems super hot but then when you bite into things like the rolls and wontons they're cold and squishy. Always makes my stomach a little queasy and end up tossing any leftovers.

Popped in here for the lunch buffet. The services was friendly. The buffet was ok but nothing to get excited about. The price was $6.99 which included all you can eat steam table, two types of soup, lettuce and a couple desserts. The hot and sour soup was best thing on the buffet.

In the past I have patronized their Uintah location, but recently decided to check out their 8th Street locale. Pretty much the same menu as their other location. Standard, yet predictable Chinese place. Better than most in town (which isn't difficult to do in this Asian-deprived town), but still nothing to overly "crow" about. Stir frys were ok, but not up to par with what I can whip up on my own wok at home. Service was friendly, and the place itself was clean. Just "OK".

Best buffet in town! Only problem is that the buffet ends at 2! I can almost never make it in time.

Had dinner at the Coal Mine. The food is good, not great. The price is great, not good. Service was excellent. Not gourmet but a good place to take the fam for dinner. Good portions too.

It's a decent place, and the staff is friendly and attentive. When I asked for my dish spicy, I got spicy (you'd be surprised how tough it is to get spicy Asian food in Colorado Springs, especially Szechuan style).

Love the lunch buffet, never been here otherwise. Crab rangoons (crab and cream cheese wontons) are the best I have ever had! Rest of the buffet food is decent but I come for the crab rangoons.

It is a pretty good place, the Chinese food here in the Springs, really is not that good, this place is the exception. The menu is fairly priced and the selection is great. The staff there is always friendly and helpful not a bad place for Chinese food.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
